Held

The sky fell,
All was let loose from hell
In the mix of nimbus and hades
We stood, in the face of the clipper’s blades.

The world came crashing.
Thuds, bangs, booms, abounding.
Mares haunted dreams, aches taunted hope
Yet we clung on, like we had some strobe

Many times we questioned our minds
Were we dumb, had we left reason behind?
Who were we to think we’d live through this?
How in the world could we be at peace?

I believe we didn’t so much hold on, we were held!
By an arm so strong, to a love that melds and welds
And that heart still beats, with us, for us.
Life is worth living, because the greater one lives in us!
