The devourer indeed lies within
In tandem it moves while hidden
Lurks and preys and even grows
Till to dim eyes it clearly shows
In full view the seeing can only stare
Even the blind can feel its scare
The pros can hardly wield a cure
Till the inevitable becomes sure
To everyone on palliation
To those who the best of treatments won’t suffice
I pray the beautiful moments of life linger
Till they breathe their last.
And some day soon,
Cancer of any kind will no longer be a death sentence.
